OverviewThis body of work was made during a residency in Icheon, Korea. Working alongside local masters and craftsmen, and using local materials and techniques.
‘During my Spring Residency in Icheon, Korea, my goal was to develop my skills in throwing in the Eastern style, and to explore more shapes. The initial three weeks were spent on the former, with many cylinders and 항아리 (a traditional form similar to the Moon Jar) made, and scrapped for practice sake. The last two weeks of my residency were spent on the latter, which resulted in this collection of paddled bottles.’
Each piece is wheel thrown, and paddled to introduce a facetted surface. The collection includes 2-facet, 4-facet, and 8-facet bottles.
