Overview

Sake Bottles for Bar Kaeru

A set of small sake bottles made on commission for Bar Kaeru, a bar in Melbourne's CBD. The brief called for pops of colour but an overall simple, earthy look; resulting in pieces that lean into saturated, playful glazes suited to a bar setting. Each bottle is sized for individual servings between 10cm-15cm tall, and fired in oxidation. The order was for a set of 40 bottles, majority of which were not photographed, but documented are the few pieces that did not make the cut for the brief outlined.

Medium: Midfire, Oxidation fired.

Format: Functional.

Tone: Electric, colourful, party.
